about

Recorded during a Skype session on the 12th of September, 2014. Unfortunately, we weren't able to record the entire set, so this album mostly consists of excerpts from that concert. Still, I think we were able to get a lot of the best bits on here.

Most of this was recorded completely spontaneously, without any real pre-planned setlist - I kind of just blurted out whatever songs came to mind, both originals and covers. Some of the songs were even improvised completely on the spot ("We Really Love You, Scott Bakula", "The Spiffy Flinger Variety Show", all of the gator songs). Most of the improvised pieces aren't really of the greatest quality (in other words, THEY SUCK), but we were pretty much just messing around.

Those who participated on Skype to listen to the set include Luke Slomba, Justin Ji and birdsinbaskets, who joins me on two songs here!

The lyrics to Gator Auto Glass were nicked from a website for a business of the same name. Also, the cover art referred to in the last track, "(Anticlimactic Finale)", is not the one used on the final release, but one created by Luke that was the originally intended cover, until we realized the image he used was not public domain. COPYRIGHT SUCKS. But, don't worry!! The final cover (created by yours truly) is totally 100% legal and copyright-free!

It was a great time, and I'd like to do another album like this in the future. Maybe next time featuring the full concert, as well as including the other Skypers' commentary.

Non-musical tracks are in parentheses.

Credit to Luke for the album title idea.

All tracks recorded by Spiffy Flinger, except for "Senses Working Overtime" and "We Really Love You, Scott Bakula", recorded by birdsinbaskets.
